Football fans are teeing off on Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy after his take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl aged terribly.
Notre Dame defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24 in the Orange Bowl and College Football Playoff semifinals to earn a trip to the National Championship Game in 10 days, and they’ll face the winner of Ohio State vs. Texas.
During Notre Dame’s sluggish start in the game, Dave Portnoy took to X/Twitter and made a bold claim about Marcus Freeman’s group. Portnoy wrote, “This is why ND won’t join the Big 10,” and, “They’d get physically dominated virtually every single week.
Unfortunately for Portnoy, the popular @OldTakesExposed X account and plenty of other fans did not forget the post after the Fighting Irish emerged victorious:
