VIDEO: Shocking Footage Exposes The Extreme Measures Deion Sanders’ Security Team Has To Take While Opening Mail For The Colorado Head Coach

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders doesn’t often appear as if he has anything to worry about. However, it’s been revealed that he is faced with death threats almost daily.

An episode of the ‘Coach Prime’ docuseries that aired this week shows Michael Rhodes, one of the officers on Sanders’ security detail, disclosing that the coach gets plenty of death threats and hate mail.

“Coach gets a lot of mail every day, a lot of packages, a lot of gifts,” Rhodes says.

He is also shown putting on a pair of black gloves to protect himself from anything that could harm him.

“As he stated publicly, he gets a lot of death threats, a lot of hate mail, so just as a precaution, we go through the mail very carefully. Put on these gloves just to ensure that we don’t come into contact with any type of hazardous material,” he explains.

The Buffaloes also have a device that can detect harmful material on mail that beeps several times if something is up.

Deion Sanders Brought Michael Rhodes With Him From JSU

Rhodes, who has been a regular sight since Coach Prime moved to Colorado, was a member of the Jackson State campus police for around 10 years.

He was asked to join Sanders’ security detail while over there and was later asked to make the switch with the head coach when he moved to Boulder. He readily agreed.

Rhodes has had his work cut out for him since then
