Chantel Mayo, the wife of former New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo, has called the team out in an online rant, threatening to expose their “lies.”
Mayo was given the boot by Pats owner Robert Kraft, who this week announced the decision to let him go after just one season in charge.
The development came as a surprise given the team Mayo took over, as well as the low expectations. It was understood that he would be given time to grow into the role while the team underwent a rebuild.
As it turned out, that was not the case. And Mayo’s wife doesn’t appear to be happy with some of the stories that have surfaced in the wake of his dismissal.
“It never even crossed our minds to tell the truth…But I couldn’t even fathom all of the lies we read that are being told to save face. What happened to class?” she posted via her Instagram story this Friday.
“We’ve been taking the high road and letting everyone do their thing since Sunday. But playing with someone’s name won’t be tolerated. I bet the fake stories will stop before the real ones start.”
Oh boy: Former #Patriots HC Jerod Mayo’s wife goes OFF on IG about the firing:

Jerod Mayo Faced Curious Accusation
Jerod Mayo wasn’t given the time he thought he’d have with the Patriots, and there have been some claims suggesting there was more to his firing than the 4-13 record.
A report from Chad Graff of The Athletic claimed that the former head coach joined players who were playing a card game on a flight back home after a bad loss to the Arizona Cardinals while assistant coaches were reviewing game film.
Chantel didn’t point to any specific reports but suggested that all the negative stories about her husband are less than truthful.
Meanwhile, Kraft has taken responsibility for Mayo’s failure as a head coach, admitting he put him in an “untenable” situation.
Mayo has maintained his silence since he was let go.
