New England Patriots safety and team captain Jabrill Peppers has reportedly been arrested on some disturbing charges.
Peppers, who has been nursing a shoulder injury, was not in the team against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
According to CBS, the player was taken into custody after police received a report of an altercation between two people at his home in Braintree, Massachusetts, on Saturday. He is understood to have been arrested on multiple charges, including strangulation and possession of drugs.
Braintree police announced the arrest on Monday. The safety is expected to be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B drug believed to be cocaine.
Police noted that the victim was treated for injuries at the scene.
Peppers will be arraigned at the Quincy District Court on Monday.
