NFL fans are loving Joey Porter Jr.’s “Sunday Night Football” player intro for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 5 home contest against the Dallas Cowboys.
For their “Sunday Night Football” NFL broadcasts, NBC Sports has a special feature where the offensive and defensive players on each side introduce their names with their alma matter. But instead of mentioning his alma matter of “Penn State”, Joey Porter Jr. decided to use humor for his SNF player intro:

And football fans were loving how the second-generation NFLer introduced himself on Sunday night:

Not sure if you all saw it but on Sunday night football Joey porter Jr announced himself as “King of the north”. Word’s getting around 🤫😂— Christian (@Cramirezpga) October 7, 2024
The 24-year-old Joey Porter Jr. is the son of former NFL star linebacker Joey Porter, who played for the Steelers from 1999 to 2006. Porter led the Steelers to a Super Bowl 40 championship in the 2005 season and was named to four Pro Bowl nods during his playing career.
Joey Porter Jr. & Steelers Are Off To A Strong Start
The Steelers entered Week 5 against Dallas with a 3-1 record, thanks largely to a stingy defense that allowed just 13.3 points per game over four weeks. Porter Jr. hasn’t hit his ceiling yet, but there’s no telling how much better Pittsburgh’s defense will be if he can regain the star-like form we saw a year ago.
