Stephen A Smith is undoubtedly one of, if not the most recognized, figures in sports media. Because of the many views and interest he receives from fans, he gets paid like it, too, currently making $12 million a year with ESPN.
However, he isn’t satisfied with that money and has gone to extreme lengths to argue why he deserves more. He recently compared himself to star quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys during an interview with CNN.
“Dak Prescott just signed a contract for $240 million, he’s making $60 million a year,” Smith said. “I’ve been No. 1 for 12 (years), I’m sorry, in our respective industries, I win. I’m fully aware of what I’m worth, and I will never apologize for that to anybody.”
Many NFL fans are coming together to criticize Smith for his comments and using Prescott as a comparison.

“The best part about the nba off season is that I’ve barely heard about this guy for months. But of course, now he’s back Dudes just yappin,” said one comment.
“Look SAS brings a lot of money in for espn and he probably should get that money but comparing himself to a NFL qb as a way to try and get a raise is just laughable,” said another.
“well that made me laugh, if just sitting around giving your opinion is like being a pro football player then I need the same kinda contract then,” added a third.
Of course, ESPN has been making a lot of layoffs recently, so it will be interesting to see what kind of contract Smith gets.

When Stephen A. Smith did sign that massive contract, earning him $12 million per year since 2021.
However, it expires in 2025, and he has no plans to accept a pay cut. It’s unlikely many other networks can even afford his asking price.
