‘I’m a scaredy cat.’ Swifties nervous about watching Travis Kelce in ‘Grotesquerie’

So, Swifties, are you ready for it? Because it sounds like some of you aren’t.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, aka Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, will make his scripted acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new FX horror series, “Grotesquerie.”

The series premieres Wednesday, though it’s not known if Kelce will appear in the first episode.

The public has only seen coy snippets of him in trailers, which isn’t much except for this chilling line he delivers with a disarming smile: “Want me to plug in the nightlight so you’re not scared in the dark?”

TVLine entertainment outlet tried to pump Donna Kelce for info Monday at the purple-carpet premiere, where the NFL mom received applause when Murphy gave her a shoutout. Her son wasn’t there.

But even mama is in the dark about whether something wicked this way comes.

Is he a good guy or bad guy?

“I wasn’t on set. I didn’t see anything and I think they wanted it that way to make sure that nothing got out,” Donna told TVLine. “I have no idea.

“I don’t know if it’s a nice character or a bad character, or just a character in between. I have no idea.”

Just the prospect of seeing Swift’s fun-loving, charming, goofy, doting partner as a bad guy/killer/nefarious character in a bloody horror show is really messing with minds in Swiftie world.

They’ve been commiserating on social media where some confess they’re too scared to watch the show and others say they’ll put aside their distaste for gore to support Taylor’s guy.

A sampling of the angst on TikTok.

“Someone finna just have to tell me what happens. There ain’t no way I can do it. Ima have nightmares.”

“I’m a scaredy cat and can’t watch it all!”

“Okay I hate scary things but I might need to power through this one.”

“Trav, why are you doing this to me right? I am a chicken when it comes to scary movies, shows. But … cannot wait to watch this show! Hmmm!”

“Wow I have never watched a scary movie but I might have to.”

“Ima have to watch this in the day time with all the lights on and my anxiety plushie and pause every 5 seconds but I’ll get through it.”

“If you don’t like scary things, just go into it with an open mind and don’t watch it in the dark.”

Some Swift fans plan to skip the show and wait for the fan edits.

“I’m not gonna watch it but please make edits and cuts. I don’t watch horror,” begged one user.

“I got ya!” a fellow Swiftie reassured them. “Haha I’ll be relying on anything shared like this because I hate scary …”

So, uh, no watch parties then?

Kelce and co-star Niecy Nash-Betts (“Reno 911!”), who has praised Kelce’s acting chops, have both shared the behind-the-scenes action on social media, but nothing about what Kelce did in front of the cameras.

The 10-episode drama series also stars Tony and Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance (“The Hunt for Red October” and “The Preacher’s Wife”) and British actress Lesley Manville.

“A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community,” says the show’s description. “Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone — or something — is taunting her.

“With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan. However, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”

The trailers show blood, Satanic rituals, blood, skin being ripped, blood, self-flagellation and more blood.

You know, typical stuff for Murphy, who created the Emmy-winning FX anthology series “American Horror Story” that combines true-crime savagery with the supernatural.

Swift fans trying to figure out Kelce’s role are conflicted about whether they want to see him as good guy or villain in a role Murphy has said he wrote specifically for him.

From what they’ve seen in the trailers, Kelce reminds some fans of actor Cole Hauser, who plays tough cowboy with a soft heart Rip Wheeler on “Yellowstone.”

“I don’t want to see him like the villain,” wrote one TikTok user who punctuated her concern with a crying emoji and echoing one common sentiment.

“I’m a little scared of this version of Travis, make me kind of proud of him,” wrote another.

The series debuts with two back-to-back episodes at 9 p.m. Central Wednesday on FX and streams later on Hulu.
