VIDEO: Rome Odunze’s Dad Adds Fuel To The Chicago Bears Drama With Critical Social Media Post About Rookie QB Caleb Williams

On Wednesday, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky took to X to criticize some aspects of the Chicago Bears offense. It mostly centered around the struggles rookies Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze are facing.

He mentioned the wide receiver, stating, “Rome isn’t getting open at this level right now.”

That caught the attention of James Odunze, Rome’s father. James then also went to X to share a clip of Rome getting wide open in the endzone to try and prove Orlovsky wrong.

The post can also be seen as a jab at Williams, who should have been able to get the ball in for a touchdown.

However, many on social media noted that the post was stripped of much context, and Williams was pressured almost immediately and had no time to get the ball to Rome.

“No time to throw the ball. Literally one extra second to let him finish the route and he has the ball,” said one comment.

“Also you can clearly see Caleb is having to scramble for his life based on the way the defense flows right before Rome hits his break. Don’t do this James,” said another.

Of course, stirring up social media drama sounds crazy, considering the Bears are only two weeks into the season. You have to wonder if this kind of stuff affects relationships inside the locker room with such a young team.

Rome Odunze Is Having A Slow Start To NFL Career

With so many playmakers already on the offense, it’s easy to understand why Odunze is having a slow start to his rookie season.

Through his first two games, he has only been targeted nine times for three receptions, 44 yards, and zero touchdowns.
