NFL referee Adrian Hill had to be carted off the field after suffering an apparent leg injury during the Buffalo Bills-Houston Texans ‘Thursday Night Football’ game.
Adrian Hill was observing a Bills’ offensive play from their end zone in the third quarter when he suffered an apparent leg injury. Texans trainers came out and assisted Hill in getting off the field:
Amazon Prime Video cameras then cut to Hill getting carted off the field:
A graduate of the University of Buffalo, Hill began working as a college football referee in 2004 and later transitioned to the NFL Europe, which has since ceased operations. He made the jump to the NFL in 2010 and was named a head referee in 2019.
Per Pro Football Reference, Adrian Hill was previously a side judge, line judge and field judge ahead of his promotion. He is usually assigned at least one playoff game every season, most recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Philadelphia Eagles 2023 NFC Wild Card Round contest.
Here’s hoping Adrian Hill avoided a serious injury and will be back on the field as soon as possible. We’ll have more information on his status when it becomes available.
