Rookie Cam Skattebo was rushed to the hospital after suffering a horrific ankle injury during the Giants’ clash with the Eagles on Sunday.
The running back had to be carted off after being tackled at midfield by Zack Baun during the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. The Giants later confirmed that Skattebo dislocated his ankle and was taken to the hospital for ‘further evaluation.’
Immediately after the tackle, he went down in a heap and smacked his helmet in pain. Skattebo’s ankle could be seen pointing at a 90-degree angle, with bone poking out inside his sock.
Nearby, players from both teams immediately put their hands to their heads. Others dropped to a knee, while some turned their backs. Jaxson Dart could be seen shouting in frustration and shaking his head.
Skattebo’s Giants teammates called for medics to tend to the rookie, who alongside quarterback Dart has breathed new life into New York’s season.
The running back was in obvious distress as he sat on the turf and Skattebo already had a brace on his lower right leg when he was driven off the field.

He was well enough, however, to wave to supporters in the crowd as he was taken to the locker room to a huge ovation.
The rookie scored three rushing touchdowns against the Eagles earlier this month and had already caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Dart on Sunday.
The 23-year-old was selected by the Giants with the 105th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2025 draft.
Skattebo played college football for Sacramento State and Arizona State before joining the NFL.
