ICE facility shooting leaves multiple people injured and two dead

Three people have been shot at a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) detention facility in Dallas, Texas.

It has been reported that the gunman, who has not yet been named, is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

It has also been reported that one victim has died, says NBC News. No ICE agents have been shot or injured.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has spoken out on the ordeal and said that a motive for the attack is yet to be determined.

She tweeted: “There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Field Office. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities.

“The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”

Noem added: “Please pray for the victims and their families.”

JD Vance has also reacted to the news and said that the ‘obsessive attack on law enforcement’, ICE in particular, ‘must stop’.

“I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families,” the vice president went on.
