Giants QB Russell Wilson Showed His True Character After Getting Benched For Rookie Jaxson Dart

True to form, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson kept it classy after learning he was benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart.

After an ugly Week 3 performance against the Kansas City Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football”, the Giants announced they were benching Russell Wilson and starting Jaxson Dart in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wilson had just 160 passing yards on 32 attempts (18 completions) for no touchdowns and two interceptions in a 22-19 loss to the Chiefs. To add insult to injury, Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones took a shot at Wilson by saying he didn’t want to ask for a jersey swap, following several failed attempts with the Pro Bowl QB.

Though getting benched is never a good feeling, especially for a seasoned veteran like Wilson, the 10-time Pro Bowler stayed humble with a heartwarming message on X/Twitter.

“With God, nothing is impossible. Grateful for His healing power!!! 🙏🏾 @MountSinaiPeds @WhyNotYouFdn,” Wilson wrote.

The Giants signed Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency before trading up via the Houston Texans to select Dart with the No. 25 pick. Dart was the consensus No. 3 QB in this year’s class behind Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but the latter fell to the Cleveland Browns in round five at No. 144 overall.
