The NFL has announced new special patches for five superstar players this season, including reigning MVP Josh Allen.
Allen narrowly won the 2024 NFL MVP Award over Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, leading Buffalo to just its second AFC Championship Game appearance since 1994. Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns to go along with 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing scores.
The other major award winners were Jayden Daniels (Offensive Rookie of the Year), Jared Verse (Defensive Rookie of the Year), Saquon Barkley (Offensive Player of the Year) and Patrick Surtain II (Defensive Player of the Year.
Per ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg, the NFL is debuting special gold patches for the five major award winners. Daniels, Barkley, Verse, Surtain II and Josh Allen will have the patches displayed on their jerseys throughout 2025:
“For the first time, the NFL will further recognize the achievements of some of football’s top performers from the previous season. Winners of five Associated Press awards from 2024 will wear a gold shield patch inspired by the NFL Honors logo in place of the traditional NFL shield patch on the collar of the players’ game jerseys.”
2025 has already been a special year for the Buffalo quarterback. Along with his MVP Award, Josh Allen tied the knot with actress Hailee Steinfeld. Now, we wait and see if he can lead Buffalo to the promised land after last year’s crushing AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Josh Allen & Bills Look To Finish the Job In 2025

The Bills have nothing more to prove in the regular season, with six straight seasons of double-digit wins and five consecutive AFC East division crowns. Once again, it’s Super Bowl or bust in Orchard Park.
Buffalo has loaded up on weapons for Josh Allen, signing ex-Los Angeles Chargers speedster Josh Palmer and bringing back old friend Gabe Davis. With Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, James Cook and Dalton Kincaid returning, Allen has all the pieces around him to enjoy a career year.
Allen and the Bills kick off the 2025 season against Jackson’s Ravens on “Sunday Night Football”, a rematch of last year’s thrilling Divisional Round clash.
