Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement proves they both love numerology.
After the couple announced their engagement Aug. 26, the date of Taylor’s appearance on New Heights Aug. 13 became even more significant, as it occurred exactly 13 days before. The significance? Well, as even the most casual fan of Taylor would know, her favorite number is, of course, 13.
What’s more, Taylor, 35, made a point to draw attention to her interest in numerology during her recent interview with her then-boyfriend of two years and his brother Jason Kelce.
“I love numerology,” she said at the time. “I love math stuff, I love dates. That stuff I find really fun.”
And Travis, also 35, joined in to point out some interesting numerology between the couple.
“I’m 87,” the Kansas City Chiefs player, who has donned the number for his entire NFL career, explained, “and she’s 13. And…100.”
Taylor clarified, “13 plus 87 equals 100. That’s numerology.”
Jason, 37, joined in on the fun, adding, “My favorite number has always been 13.”
“The Life of a Showgirl” singer admitted she was already well aware of Jason’s love of the number, which she called a huge green flag in her early days in Travis’ romance.
“That’s part of the numerology of why we’re dating,” Taylor explained, with Travis chiming in, “That’s part of it. It’s been in my life, man.”
As for why Taylor likes the number 13 so much?
“I was born on the 13th,” Taylor, who was born on December 13, 1989, shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2007. “I turned 13 on Friday the 13th, my first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first song that ever went number one—it had a 13 second intro. And every time I’ve ever won an award at an award show I’ve either been seated in the 13th row, or row ‘M’ which is the 13th letter.”
