Coldplay frontman Chris Martin found himself at the center of a firestorm after aiding one of the most awkward situations in the history of concerts a few days ago.

Martin was performing as part of the band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in Boston on Wednesday night when a couple popped up on the jumbotron. They immediately made it clear that they did not want to be there, but the 48-year-old had a few things to say.

“Ooh, look at these two,” he said before the man, later identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, ducked out of sight.

The woman, Kristin Cabot, the company’s head of human resources, covered her face before turning around and tucking tail.

Martin made sure to ask the next couple who showed up on screen whether they were legitimate and hasn’t been taking any chances since.

His next appearance on Saturday night in Madison, Wisconsin, saw him warn everyone that the cameras would be coming, so they should get their makeup fixed just in case.

Fans reckon the Astronomer incident has left him “traumatized.”

“Chris Martin is low key traumatized 😂,” one user claimed in the comments.

“Chris’ lawyers told him he now needs to ask every couple if they are legitimate💀,” another joked.

“chris martin asking every couple he sees “are YOU TWO a legitimate couple?” is sending me like they really traumatized that man,” someone else said in a tweet.

Martin is clearly desperate to avoid another incident like what happened on Wednesday night, and we don’t blame him.

The consequences have been dire, with marriages now on the line and one CEO post vacant.
