Social media had all sorts of jokes about the Kansas City Chiefs and their wide receivers following Xavier Worthy’s arrest this weekend.
The rookie wide receiver seems to have become part of a disturbing pattern as he’s now the second consecutive Chiefs pass-catcher to be arrested in Texas after a promising first year. Think back to Rashee Rice…
Worthy, the 28th overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, joined the Chiefs out of Texas following an impressive outing at the Scouting Combine.
He helped the team reach the Super Bowl and was their most productive receiver in the big game, although they fell short against the Eagles.
Online records in Williamson County, Texas, show that he was booked for “ASSAULT FAM/HOUSE MEM IMPEDE BREATH/CIRCULAT,” which suggests he is alleged to have attempted to strangle a family member or someone in his household.
Xavier Worthy Caused Quite A Stir Among Fans

As noted above, social media had plenty to say.
“Can Chiefs WRs just not go to Texas during the offseason 💀,” a fan suggested.
“Chiefs definitely know how to pick their WRs…. Every off season one of them gets arrested. 🤓🤓🤓,” another observed.
