Ryan Reynolds Shares Selfie with Blake Lively Set to a Classic Love Song amid Legal Battle with Justin Baldoni

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are all smiles in a new selfie.

On Monday, Feb. 3, Reynolds, 48, posted a photo on his Instagram Stories showing him and Lively, 37, posing together on a dimly lit street while Hootie & the Blowfish’s 1994 hit “Only Wanna Be with You” played in the background.

In the image, the Deadpool actor posed in a black-and-white plaid jacket and glasses, while Lively wore a brown tweed-style coat as she beamed for the camera. The pair tied the knot back in 2012 and share daughters James, 10, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, plus son Olin, 1.

Reynolds’ snap also came after he posted a photo of him visiting the tomb of Yale University founder, Elihu Yale, in Wrexham, U.K. for “research,” before later sharing a shot of himself on stage at his conversation and Q&A at The Paley Center for Media in New York City taken on Thursday, Jan. 30.

The Free Guy star’s selfie with Lively comes after PEOPLE reported the Gossip Girl alum was staying focused on her family as her legal battle with her It Ends with Us costar and director, Justin Baldoni, continues.

“Blake is surprisingly calm and just tries to focus on family life,” a source close to Lively said.

“She’s in constant contact with her team. She sees the whole lawsuit drama as a necessary bump, but she’s not letting it take away from her main focus, which is her children,” the insider added.

Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni in December for his alleged misconduct behind the scenes of the romantic drama.

She claimed that Baldoni exhibited “disturbing” and “unprofessional” behavior on set that led to a “hostile work environment.” Lively also alleged Baldoni carried out a retaliatory public smear campaign to “destroy” her reputation.

Baldoni later filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion. Baldoni’s team also sued The New York Times over an article reporting on Lively’s complaint.

On Monday, Feb. 3, attorneys from both sides appeared at a pre-trial conference, which hashed out Lively’s prospective request for a gag order.

Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman, who also represents It Ends with Us producers Jamey Heath and Steve Sarowitz, their production company Wayfarer Studios and publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, said Baldoni had been emotionally and financially “devastated” by the legal battle.

New York judge Lewis Liman later ordered both sides to refrain from making public statements that could sway the jury.

The judge’s order came after Baldoni’s attorneys leaked video footage from the It Ends with Us set to the press and launched a websitethelawsuitinfo.com, linking to his legal documents.

Lively’s attorneys, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, said they were “pleased” with the judge’s ruling.

In December 2024, a source told PEOPLE that Lively’s husband Reynolds had been “her rock” in the wake of the complaint against Baldoni.

“Ryan is always her rock. They have such a special relationship. He’s very proud of her in so many ways,” the insider said.

A trial for both of their cases is scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026.
