So far, Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has appeared in just five games this season. A quad injury he sustained during practice left him on the bench for three straight weeks.
However, it was announced that Higgins would be healthy enough to return before his team’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
This news might have made an X user named Andrew Cooper go public with his very interesting theory about the wide receiver.
As players go to the practice field, there is a small hill that most will run up as a shortcut. Cooper thinks there is a direct correlation between how Higgins goes up the hill and his injury status for the week.
It sounds crazy, but the coincidence makes it almost seem believable.
A handful of videos show that when Higgins runs up the hill, he plays that week, but if he goes up slowly or avoids it altogether, he sits.
This could even be something Higgins does subconsciously without even knowing. This would sound very probable if you believe in repetitive tendencies or rituals.
Tee Higgins Likely Won’t Return To The Bengals
Higgins is currently playing under the Bengals’ franchise tag, and he is getting paid $21.8 million this season. However, it’s likely his last with the organization.
It’s been rumored that Cincinnati is trying to decide whether to bring back Higgings or pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. Because they already have Ja’Marr Chasee, the choice is likely Hendrickson.
It’s hard for a team to pay two receivers a lot of money, as Higgin’s market value is currently $18.8 million per year, and that’s just a bit too rich for the Bengals.
His injury history makes it seem like a gamble to give him a long-term contract worth that much money.
