Tyrique Stevenson had a terrible day on Sunday.
The battle between the 2024 NFL Draft’s No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks did not disappoint. The final score wouldn’t be determined until the final possession and pass.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels threw a 52-yard game-winning Hail Mary to Noah Brown with triple zeros on the clock.
Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was fairly confident on this day in many ways.
Footage has since surfaced of the cornerback on the sidelines hours before the kickoff, making a bet with Commanders fans who stated he wasn’t ready for the team.
As we saw, Stevenson sure felt like the game was over when he was caught interacting with/taunting Commanders fans before the final play.
Tyrique Stevenson Apologizes For Taunting Fans Right Before His Team Lost on a Hail Mary Touchdown
Chicago’s Hail Mary loss to Washington on Sunday was made to be much worse when looking at Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson on the play.
The video went viral of the second-year pro taunting fans with his back to the ball as Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels took the snap.
Once he realized the play was going on, he would sprint toward the mass of bodies on the other side of the end zone. It was his sleep and tip of the ball that would land in the hands of Noah Brown, who secured Washington’s 18-15 victory.
Tyrique Stevenson declined to speak with reporters after the game but posted an apology on social media.
“To Chicago and teammates, my apologies for lack of awareness and focus,” he wrote. “The game ain’t over until zeros hit the clock. Can’t take anything for granted. Notes taken, improvement will happen.”
