Multiple NFL insiders expect the San Francisco 49ers to trade Deebo Samuel before the deadline.
The Niners reportedly held talks over a move for the star wide receiver before the NFL Draft this year and ended up sticking with him. However, his name has again come up in trade rumors ahead of the upcoming November 5 deadline, with several factors believed to be in play.
San Francisco would have taken on a $21 million dead cap hit had they traded the player before June 1 this year, but it would be easier to move him now as the financial consequences aren’t as dire on the back of said date.

On the other hand, Samuel has played a massive role in the Niners’ recent success, and dealing him away could negatively impact the team’s chemistry. The wideout has also been one of the most effective players in his position, offering premium value in the running game and in the air.
NFL Insiders Are Claiming Deebo Samuel Is One To Keep An Eye On
Despite the above, multiple insiders, including The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, reckon Deebo is someone who “could be on the clock” heading into next month.
“With the NFL trade deadline just 16 days away, GMs around the league are keeping an eye on several players who could be on the clock, including: Deebo Samuel, Bryce Young, DeAndre Hopkins, Za’Darius Smith,” Russini reported on Sunday morning.

The Niners drafting another wide receiver earlier this year and handing Brandon Aiyuk the contract he wanted did suggest that they may have been preparing for a Deebo Samuel move.
It might be an interesting run to the deadline.
