Football isn’t the only thing the pop star is supporting her boyfriend on
Jayla Thornton-Cook, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs player Bryan Cook, is sharing the importance of support among the wives and girlfriends of athletes, especially when it comes to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
“I feel like it’s beautiful,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively when asked about the singer’s relationship with the football player. “It all is a work-life balance and everybody’s going through different things. So just for them to acknowledge how hard it is to manage relationships and just deal with everything,”
She adds, “I feel like it’s a great spotlight to have. It is definitely very cool for them. Balance is just the main word of everything, just trying to balance everything. And they’ve been having a really good season so far.”
Since the new NFL season kicked off in September, Swift has been there to support Kelce, who’s coming off a second-consecutive Super Bowl win. The “So High School” singer, 34, was spotted in Kansas City on Monday, Oct. 7 cheering on Kelce, 35, for the third time in five games, as the Cheifs beat the New Orleans Saints 26-13.
Following the win, Swift caught up with Chariah Gordon — the fiancée of Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. — in a VIP suite. “How do you feel after this win?,” Gordon asked Swift as they stood in front of a framed promo poster for the “August” singer’s Eras tour.
“No, it’s important that you answer the question this time,” Swift jokingly replied as she placed her arm on Gordon’s shoulder while holding a beverage in a plastic Chiefs cup.

But football isn’t the only thing Swift is supporting her boyfriend on.
Series creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy told E! News that the “Karma” singer has given the tight end support as he embarks on new career opportunities, including a supporting role on the FX thriller Grotesquerie.
“The only thing that [Travis and I] talked about was that she’s very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it,” he recalled. “I was thrilled about that.”
While filming, Murphy shared how he only heard “sweet, lovely things” about the pop superstar, adding, “I love her too.”
Though Kelce didn’t have an acting background, the Monster creator revealed that the NFL pro didn’t need any tips when it came to his performance. “A star is a star is a star — and he’s a star,” he continued. “He’s so charismatic, and he’s so smart, he’s lovely,” he continued. “He had a window of time. He asked me to work up something for him. I did. It was an honor.”
