Teenagers participating in what looked to be a fun wakeboarding experience in the Florida streets were detained following Hurricane Milton.
The hurricane hit Florida’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday, compounding damage caused by Hurricane Helene two weeks earlier. However, things could have been a lot worse, as it was downgraded to a Category 3 storm before making landfall.
Still, it left devastation in its wake, with several people losing their lives due to flooding, tornadoes, and other events.
A group of friends opted to have some fun amid the chaos, taking to the streets to wakeboard. The recording below shows a teen boarding, rather expertly, along Desoto Parkway in Satellite Beach while his friends ride along in the truck he’s attached to.
The clip ends with them getting pulled over.

Social Media Did Not Appreciate Police Pulling Hurricane Milton Wakeboarder Over
While this did look quite enjoyable, life and limb were at risk as several things could have gone wrong, such as the kid hitting a tree or even the back of the truck that was pulling him if there was a reason to brake suddenly.
Even so, social media thought the cops took this too seriously.
“Cant have any kind of fun nowadays. This would have been perfectly acceptable to do back in the 90s without worry from the law,” a user claimed.
“Where is there a law that says no wakeboarding on the street?” someone else asked.
Busted! Some people just can’t let other people make lemonade out of lemons 😅

“This is the sht kids need to be doing! Not stuck playing video games,” said a third.
“Only in Florida does a post-hurricane surf session end with a free ride in the back of a police car!” someone else laughed.
Better safe than sorry, as they say.
