Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn’t waste much time ending any suspense about whether his team planned its head-turning lateral during the first half of Monday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Patrick Mahomes completed a pass to Travis Kelce on 3rd-and-22, and the tight end then lateraled it to Samaje Perine. It left the Chiefs one yard short of a first down, and they eventually converted the ensuing fourth down before ending the drive with a field goal.
