Video: Chiefs’ Andy Reid Reacts to Travis Kelce Lateral, Practice It ‘Every Day’

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn’t waste much time ending any suspense about whether his team planned its head-turning lateral during the first half of Monday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Patrick Mahomes completed a pass to Travis Kelce on 3rd-and-22, and the tight end then lateraled it to Samaje Perine. It left the Chiefs one yard short of a first down, and they eventually converted the ensuing fourth down before ending the drive with a field goal.

“We do it every day in practice,” Reid said when asked if the play was planned or not.

This is not the first time Kelce has lateraled a live ball after coming down with a catch.
