Everyone Is Saying The Same Thing About Troy Aikman During Saints-Chiefs ‘Monday Night Football’ Game

NFL fans voiced the same complaints about ESPN analyst Troy Aikman during today’s “Monday Night Football” game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints.

Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are on the call for the Saints-Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium tonight. The duo are in their third year together at ESPN, taking over the MNF duties after leaving FOX Sports in 2022.

Aikman and Buck are two of the most polarizing sports commentators of their era. And as always, there was no shortage of complaints about the Pro Football Hall of Famer this evening.

Troy Aikman left FOX in 2022 to sign a reported five-year deal with ESPN worth $90 million. Buck’s contract with the Worldwide Leader in Sports was said to be a five-year pact worth $75 million.

Aikman and Bubck’s departure from FOX was one of many notable NFL broadcast shakeups ahead of the 2022 season. NBC “Sunday Night Football” announcer Al Michaels left the network and signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video to call their “Thursday Night Football” games with Kirk Herbstreit, allowing Mike Tirico to replace him full-time on SNF.

As part of the NFL’s Super Bowl broadcast rotation, Troy Aikman and Joe Buck will call Super Bowl LX on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Califonia. This will be the first Super Bowl they call together since Super Bowl 54 in the 2019 season.

Love Or Hate Him, Troy Aikman Is Never Dull

Like Tony Romo, Cris Collinsworth and Tom Brady (so far), Aikman has his fair share of fans and plenty of critics. That’s the nature of the business, especially when millions of people are listening to you each week.

You don’t have to like Aikman’s style and analysis, but he gets viewers talking one way or another. It’s never a dull moment with Aikman, and that’s all ESPN needs to get money’s worth in their $90 million investment.
