“I like Mrs. Mahomes much better”: Donald Trump reacts to Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris

Donald Trump is one of the most controversial figures in American politics in recent times. However, as the former president gears up for another run to the White House, he had his say on Taylor Swift endorsing his rival, VP Kamala Harris. In doing so, Trump highlighted he favors Brittany Mahomes more than Swift.

On Tuesday, both candidates faced off for the first time in a debate telecasted on ABC. Soon after the debate, the pop icon took to her Instagram to throw her weight behind the Harris-Walz ticket. On the other hand, Brittany Mahomes has shown her support for Trump on several occasions.

After the debate, Trump made an appearance on Fox News where the former president was enquired about his thoughts on Swift endorsing Harris.

“Well, I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better,” said Trump. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan … she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Donald Trump also hailed the greatness of Kansas City Chiefs QB and Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes. The 78-year-old considered Swift’s endorsement of Harris as “not a surprise” since he expected she was going to endorse a liberal.

Taylor Swift’s political journey against Donald Trump

In 2016, Swift remained apolitical, however she broke her streak after endorsing Democrat Phil Bredesen for Senate in Tennessee during 2018 elections. In her documentary ‘Miss Americana’ she called Bredesen’s rival Sen. Marsha Blackburn, “Trump in a wig.”

Even though Bredesen lost, Swift continued her political stance. She hit back against Donald Trump on several occasions including his leadership in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic. For 2020 elections, she did not stay on the sidelines and firmly endorsed Joe Biden.

Swift’s endorsement hurt Trump last time and she would want a similar result this November as well. However, DJT seems unaffected by Swift’s call and believes in the support of Brittany Mahomes.
