Miami-Dade Police Department Releases Important Statement Revealing Exactly Why They Pulled Over Tyreek Hill, Threw Him To The Ground & Handcuffed Him During Controversial Traffic Stop

One of the officers involved in detaining Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill in this aggressive video has been placed on administrative leave according to authorities.

The Miami-Dade Police Department released its official statement on the incident roughly 24 hours after it occurred via Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 South Florida.

In their statement, the department states that Hill was never “under arrest” but only “briefly detained.” The statement claims that Hill was also “uncooperative”, which is why he was placed in handcuffs and subsequently placed on the ground. He was subsequently issued two traffic citations.

The department closed the statement by accusing Hill of initiating “this unfortunate incident.” You can read the full statement below:

After video footage of Tyreek Hill’s detainment went viral, Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie V. Daniels announced that one of the arresting officers was placed on administrative leave.

To make the controversy more bizarre, Dolphins defensive tackle Calais Campbell was also handcuffed when he attempted to de-escalate the incident between his teammate and the officers.
