Green Bay Packers 2024 Season Preview: Insights And Predictions For Jordan Love And Team

The Green Bay Packers have successfully managed major quarterback transitions, moving from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers. Now, they are navigating another shift, moving from Rodgers to Jordan Love — and they’re handling it well.

In his first season as a starter, Love led the Packers to a surprising playoff berth and a Wild Card Round victory. Impressed by his performance, the Packers rewarded him with a four-year, $220 million contract extension, matching the highest-paid deal in NFL history.

The Packers have put their faith in Love, handing him control of the offense and financial security. Their season, however, was a roller coaster. They started strong but stumbled through several losses in October. They regained momentum around Thanksgiving, only to face setbacks against the Giants and Buccaneers. Yet, they finished the season strong with a playoff win in Dallas and went toe-to-toe with San Francisco in the divisional round.

The Green Bay Packers have embraced a youth movement, parting ways with star players over the last three offseasons. They traded Davante Adams in 2022, sent Aaron Rodgers to the Jets in 2023, and released five-time All-Pro David Bakhtiari in March due to knee issues.

Jordan Love stepped in for Rodgers and delivered a strong finish after a rocky start. Over his final eight games, Love completed 70.3% of his passes for 2,150 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just one interception, earning a 112.7 passer rating. He excelled against the Cowboys, completing 76.2% of his passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns, but his interception against the 49ers ended their playoff run.

The Packers are optimistic about their young wide receivers and tight ends, with players like Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs vying for targets. At running back, they replaced Aaron Jones with Josh Jacobs, the NFL’s 2022 rushing leader, who chose Green Bay for its young talent and solid offensive line.
