And he’s a fan of Travis Kelce.
So the relationship between the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift was a topic during his guest appearance on the New Heights podcast, which premiered on Wednesday.
“By the way what a girl. What a girl,” Sandler said.
And Travis had to agree.
But the comedian didn’t stop there.
“She means so much to our house. The kids were little and we were listening to Taylor Swift—it was one of the first times that you listen to every song on the record. When I was a kid, The Beatles you did that with, maybe Elton John. Every tune. They knew every word.”
“I love listening to her in the car,” he added. “I love what she has to say. Every message. Every melody. The production. What she meant to young girls, what she means to women, what she means to guys doing the right thing in life.”
While her songs are incredible, Sandler has had the opportunity to see the singer a few times. And it’s the person that she is that truly stood out to him.
Whether it was at Saturday Night Live or at a movie premiere, Swift would take the time to speak with his children whenever she saw them. Most recently, it was at the premiere of her Eras Tour movie, and Sandler remembers the singer being very complimentary of his daughters’ movie, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.”
“She just floors my family,” he said. “Floors them!”
For a guy like Sandler, whose movies feature some of the craziest plot lines and conversations, you would think he wouldn’t get nervous. But when it comes to Swift, all bets are off.
“Someone asked me who I get nervous around, and I said, ‘I do get nervous around Taylor Swift because I don’t want to f***ing blow it for my kids and say something stupid,'” he said with a smile.
So what’s his true take on the relationship between Travis and Swift?
“You being together,” Sandler said. “That photo of when you first started dating, my family was like, ‘Yes! Look how good they are together! He’s a gentleman! And she’s having so much fun with him!’ Any time Taylor is laughing with you, my whole f–kin’ family is high fiving.”
He had Travis blushing.
“You’ve got me sweating, man,” the tight end said.
