The Today show co-host shared an emotional plea on social media, asking supporters to join her family in prayer as investigators confirm the case has escalated into a criminal investigation.

“Bring her home,” Savannah wrote.

A Mother Missing — And a Case That Turns Criminal

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m. at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue, north of Tucson. Family members had reportedly dropped her off earlier that evening. Savannah and Nancy Guthrie

What began as a search-and-rescue effort has since taken a more troubling turn.

On Monday, Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that investigators identified a crime scene at Nancy Guthrie’s home and determined she did not leave voluntarily.

“We believe now, after we processed that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime,” Nanos told reporters. “She did not leave on her own. We know that.”

As a result, authorities shut down the initial search mission, shifting the focus entirely to a criminal investigation.

Savannah Breaks Her Silence With a Prayer

On Monday night, Savannah Guthrie took to Instagram to thank those who have been praying for her mother, sharing a message rooted in faith and hope. Savannah and Nancy Guthrie smiling

“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote, alongside an image that read simply: Please pray.

She continued by describing her mother as “our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” and urged followers to keep praying with the family.

“We need you,” Savannah added.

The journalist later shared a Bible verse from Isaiah, writing:
“‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.’ A verse for all time, for all of us.”

She ended her message with a plea that has since echoed across social media:
“Bring her home.”

Investigators Raise Alarming Concerns

Authorities have revealed that Nancy Guthrie suffers from physical ailments that significantly limit her mobility. Sheriff Nanos told reporters she could not have walked far from her home on her own.

“She could not walk out of that home 50 yards,” he said.

Investigators also disclosed that Nancy requires medication that could be fatal if not taken within 24 hours — adding urgency to the ongoing search.

Evidence reportedly suggests that Nancy may have been harmed during the incident, though officials have not publicly disclosed the extent of any injuries.

‘Not a Stranger’: Expert Weighs In

A former FBI special agent has suggested that the disappearance may not involve a random suspect. Speaking on Hannity, Fox News contributor Nicole Parker said the circumstances point to someone with a “deep grievance” rather than a stranger.

Authorities have not confirmed any suspect or motive, emphasizing that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

A Family — and a Nation — Waiting

As the hours pass, support for the Guthrie family continues to pour in, with fans, viewers, and colleagues rallying behind Savannah’s call for prayer.

For now, investigators say every credible lead is being pursued — while a daughter waits, a family hopes, and a nation watches for answers.
