Pushing the envelope of innovation in the name, image, and likeness era of college football has gone to the next level. Oklahoma State has announced that its players will wear QR codes on their helmets this season.
The code on the helmets will link fans to the general NIL fund for the team, which benefits every player on the roster.
Basically, fans have the option of tipping players for their play on the field.
Oklahoma State is believed to be the first program to use a QR code on its uniform, and if it is successful, it will surely not be the last.

“This is a revolutionary step forward to help keep Oklahoma State football ahead of the game,” coach Mike Gundy said, per The Oklahoman. “It gives a chance for everyday fans across the world to have a real impact when it comes to supporting the NIL efforts for Cowboy football. I’m thrilled about this opportunity for our players.”
The Cowboys’ wearing QR codes on their helmets was just something fans could not get behind, and they promptly blasted the school.
