Taylor Swift has become a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games since she started dating Travis Kelce more than two years ago, but the pop star could be down to her final game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce is facing growing retirement rumors as the Chiefs near the end of their season. They were eliminated from playoff contention with last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and will play out the final three games of the season without quarterback Patrick Mahomes after his season-ending torn ACL.
With Kelce’s future up in the air, Swift could have just one more time to watch the future Hall of Fame tight end on the field.
Taylor Swift Not Expected to Attend Two Games
Swift changed up her attendance habits after the 2023 season, skipping road games and only watching Kelce when the Chiefs were playing at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs play just one more time at home this season, a Christmas Day tilt against the division-leading Denver Broncos, while hitting the road twice.
The Chiefs will close out their season on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders. If that is the last game of Kelce’s career, Swift could potentially change her attendance habits for the final game. Reports claimed that the pop star had security concerns about attending road games, so any attendance would likely require some extra security measures.
A source told People magazine before the start of the season that Swift wanted to attend as many games as possible, especially now that she was no longer tied down with the Eras Tour.
“Taylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season,” a source told the outlet. “Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she’s not juggling a packed tour schedule.
“This fall will be completely different,” the insider added. “It’s the first season where she’s not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.”
Travis Kelce’s Future Remains Uncertain
Kelce has not yet said whether he will return for the 2026 season. His contract with the Chiefs is up at the end of the season, and he has shied away from questions about his long-term future.
Kelce has only said he is focused on the final three games of the season, wanting to finish strong for Chiefs fans despite the disappointment of the team’s first non-playoff season in more than a decade.
“I’d rather keep the focus of the media and everything on this team right now,” Kelce said via Pro Football Talk. “All the conversations I have with the team and everything moving forward will be with them. I think it’s a unique time in my life. Unfortunately I’ve got three games left and I know when the season ends this year. Typically we go into it and we don’t know when it’s going to end and that’s the beauty of it. Just trying to make sure that everybody here knows that I’m focused on trying to win football games, these last three games.”
