Kevin Spacey reveals he’s homeless seven years after sexual assault scandal

Kevin Spacey has opened up about the price of fame, as he revealed he’s currently ‘homeless’ after being accused of sexual assault in 2018.

The 66-year-old actor was once the talk of Tinseltown, having appeared in multiple box office smash hits that included American BeautyThe Usual Suspects and Se7en to name just a few.

However, his life was swiftly turned upside down back in 2018 when multiple sexual assault allegations emerged, effectively ending his career overnight.

Between then and now, no less than 30 different allegations have emerged which accuse the two-time Oscar-winning actor of sexual assault or inappropriate behaviour – claims he has always strenuously denied.

Netflix ultimately cut short his contract on House of Cards over the claims.

In 2023, four of the allegations made it to the UK courts, but all charges were dismissed, with the star found innocent on all counts.

However, Spacey has continued to struggle, with the star even revealing that throughout the ordeal, he had lost his Maryland home and has been forced into living in an Airbnb.

He told The Telegraph: “The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

“You get through it. In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was. Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point, if things continue to improve, that I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again.

“I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

Spacey was acquitted on all charges of sexual assault, but that has not stopped him from reflecting on the person he was.

“Why was I such a good villain, why did I fit so well into a narrative that was out there? And some of those were important questions for me to ask, to take accountability for where I made mistakes,” he added. “I suppose when I look back, I wish I had spoken out sooner and allowed my voice to be heard more.”

Once earning upwards of $500,000 an episode for his lead role in House of Cards, these days Spacey has taken to living a far less luxurious lifestyle, with the actor attempting to stage a comeback in Cyprus earlier this week.

This week, the Hollywood outcast performed for one night at the Parklane Luxury Collection Resort in Limassol, Cyprus.

With tickets ranging from $290 to $1,400, the evening promised to be an experience fans wouldn’t forget, with an advert for the evening reading: “With the elegance of Sinatra, the wit of Dean Martin, and a career that spans decades of unforgettable performances, Spacey brings a voice and presence that’s simply unmatched.

“This is not just a concert. It’s not just an evening of stories.

“It’s the return of an entertainer in the grandest sense of the word—for one night only in Limassol’s most prestigious venue.”

Although the performance did prove to be a far cry from his Hollywood roots, Spacey remains optimistic that his ‘cancellation’ could one day be over.

“If Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan [Lowenstein, Spacey’s manager] tomorrow, it will be over.”
