New York Jets CB Kris Boyd was involved in a shooting incident in Manhattan in the early morning of Sunday.
According to the New York Post, Boyd is in critical condition after being shot in Manhattan. The cornerback was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where teammates, family, and friends are praying that he can make it out alive.
Police say that no arrests have been made and the shooting, which took place on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue, remains under investigation.
After it was announced that Boyd was shot, footage would soon be shown of the star player being tended to while on the ground. What appears to be some of his teammates could be seen watching on as he eventually gets loaded into the back of an ambulance.
The 29-year-old is in the midst of his first season with the Jets after signing with them this offseason.

The police would not identify the victim at this time, but The New York Post reported that sources confirmed it to be Boyd.
Before he got to this point, Boyd was selected with the No. 217 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Texas by the Vikings.
He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2019 to 2022, before heading to the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans in 2023. He would play a full season with the Texans in 2024.
Having signed a one-year deal with the Jets earlier this year, he was placed on injured reserve in August with a shoulder injury. Kris Boyd has not racked up any stats this year.
