Cam Skattebo was looking to repeat his performance against the Eagles, which he had done just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, his time on the field would end in the second quarter.
MetLife Stadium is where dreams go to die.
Skattebo’s brilliant rookie season just took a turn for the worse after he suffered what appeared to be a serious injury to his right ankle midway through the second quarter Sunday against the Eagles.
His teammates dropped to a knee as others turned their backs to avoid the gruesome scene.
The injury caused Jaxson Dart to scream “F**k!” multiple times while walking away.
Now, we are looking at slow-motion footage of the injury that shows just how bad Cam Skattebo’s injury truly is.
Pro Football doctor David J. Chao wrote, “LOOK AWAY. Right leg/ankle tibia/fibula fracture,” while saying it was similar to the injury that Aidan Hutchinson had.
Skattebo left the field on a cart with his ankle in an air cast and received a big ovation from the Eagles crowd. Before he left, he had hauled in his team-leading seventh touchdown earlier in the game on an 18-yard pass from Jaxson Dart.
In his place, Tyrone Tracy Jr. will now be forced into a bigger role again.
