BREAKING: Baltimore Ravens Sign Pro Bowl QB Amid Lamar Jackson’s Uncertain Status For Week 8 vs. Bears

The Baltimore Ravens will put their Week 8 fate in the hands of Tyler Huntley if Lamar Jackson is unable to play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Ravens have promoted Tyler Huntley from their practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday’s must-win game. Huntley was added to their practice squad in August after being released by the Cleveland Browns.

Per Luke Jones of WNST, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Huntley will start if Jackson is unable to play. The 28-year-old Jackson missed Baltimore’s last two games with a hamstring injury he suffered in a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he’s questionable for Sunday.

Tyler Huntley made nine starts for the Ravens over the 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons, with Jackson suffering injuries in the former two. Huntley also had to play in the Ravens’ 2022 Wild Card Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals, a 24-17 Baltimore loss.

Huntley earned a Pro Bowl nod in the 2021 season after making four starts in place of an injured Jackson, despite going 1-3 with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Cooper Rush went 9-5 as the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback as Dak Prescott’s fill-in, throwing 20 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. But for whatever reason, he hasn’t been able to get going in the Ravens’ offense.
