Travis Kelce came close to turning his back on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs during the offseason.
However, the four-time All-Pro tight end felt like he still had some unfinished business. He decided to shun retirement and have at least one more run with the Chiefs this season. Kelce is currently in the second and final season of his two-year, $34.25 million deal.
Now in his 13th year with Kansas City, Kelce already has 1,032 receptions under his belt for 12,472 yards and 79 touchdowns, making him one of the greatest TEs not only for the Chiefs franchise, but in the history of the NFL as well.
The Chiefs have had a rough start to the season, especially by their high standards. They lost their first three games, but have started to turn things around since then, winning three out of their last four.
“When the defense is playing like that and Pat Mahomes is out here, Texas gunslinger just shooting it all over the field, man, it’s the best,” Kelce said. “We were rocking and rolling.”
