Chris Jones was accused of drinking vodka on the bench after cameras caught him holding a breakable bottle containing a clear liquid while sitting on the sideline.
The Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle had a typically great game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, helping his team to a blowout win over their AFC West rivals.
Jones recorded a tackle and a sack against the Raiders and got some well-deserved rest on the bench, with the Chiefs offense taking the lion’s share of on-field time. As mentioned above, he was seen holding a glass bottle containing something clear while on the bench.
“CHRIS JONES DRINKING VODKA ON THE SIDELINES😭😭😭,” one X account claimed.
“Clear during work hours… brown afterwards,” a user joked.
“I mean they’re up 31-0. He can do whatever tf he wants to lol,” another offered.
“Nah that’s just rich people water,” someone suggested.
“That ain’t Vodka they would get fined to the moon,” someone else pointed out.
No investigation necessary; that was definitely not vodka. But Jones should probably stick to Saratoga spring water to avoid such speculation moving forward.
Of note, Patrick Mahomes was probably the one doing some sideline tasting as he was caught dropping a loud F-bomb during the game.
