FOX’s coverage of Sunday’s Panthers-Jets game got off to a laughable start, with audio issues plaguing the early going in the first quarter.
Chris Myers and Mark Schlereth were on the call. The former handled the play-by-play, while the latter provided color commentary. Sarah Kustok was on the sideline.
They didn’t come across very well at the start, prompting some hilarious reactions on X.
“What is this audio in the Jets Panthers game 😭😭,” one account tweeted.
“Are you underwater or listening to the Jets-Panthers broadcast? Who’s to say?” another joked.
“They’re actually calling the game from the moon,” a comment read.
“me listening to am radio,” someone offered.
“Live from a bunker in Kandahar,” someone else joked.
“Football in 1941,” a user suggested.
“Watching #Jets football is hard enough. Adding in AM radio quality audio is just mean,” someone quipped.
“So is the Panthers v Jets game audio being broadcast using one of these right now?“ another asked.
FOX has been under some pressure lately, as they’ve had to bear some of the fallout from the Mark Sanchez matter.
Fortunately, they sorted the issues out after a few minutes, saving fans the pain of having their ears ground out over four quarters.
