Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue suffered an unusual sports-related injury that you can officially file under “Never heard of this before.”
Jerry Jones and the Cowboys selected Jaydon Blue in the fifth round (149th overall) of this year’s draft, joining a revamped backfield that includes veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders.
Blue has been sidelined for Dallas’ first four games because of heel/ankle injuries he suffered in the preseason, but it looks like he’ll finally make his NFL debut against the New York Jets on Sunday.
As if Jaydon Blue hasn’t had a frustrating enough journey to play his first NFL game, he learned the hard way that Louis Vuitton brand cleats are not the way to go on the gridiron, either.
Per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer announced that Blue suffered blisters from the Louis Vuitton cleats and had to remove them ASAP. The rookie head coach called it a “questionable decision” on the running back’s end.
“About halfway through practice, I saw him laying,” Schottenheimer said, per Harris. “I say what the hell happened to Blue? ‘Coach, I’m fine. I got blisters.’ I said, ‘Oh, shocker. Look at the cool shoes you got’.”

Jaydon Blue Could Bring A New Spark For Banged-Up Dallas Cowboys Offense

The Cowboys dropped 40 points against a stingy Green Bay Packers defense in Week 4, and that was without All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who continues to recover from a serious ankle injury.
Javonte Williams is having a good first year in Dallas, with 312 rushing yards and four touchdowns thus far. Miles Sanders has been a solid understudy, with 117 rushing yards and one touchdown (5.8 yards per carry), but Blue has a higher ceiling and a greater burst of speed.
Dallas may lean a lot more on the ground game until Lamb comes back. If they get Blue involved early and often, the Cowboys could boast a three-headed monster at running back to keep the offense afloat while they await Lamb’s return.
