The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers will face each other in the most highly anticipated game on the NFL slate for Week 4.
The NFC rivals will square off on ‘Sunday Night Football’ in a game expected to receive “Super Bowl treatment” from NBC following a trade that saw pass rusher Micah Parsons leave for Wisconsin after a long, drawn-out contract dispute with Jerry Jones and Kenny Clark head the other way.
With the matchup quickly approaching, the Cowboys have decided to add a former Packers player to their practice squad amid plans to disrespect Parsons.
According to reporter Todd Archer, the team is acquiring cornerback Corey Ballentine following his release from the New England Patriots.
“The Cowboys have signed CB Corey Ballentine to the practice squad. He was let go by the Patriots Tuesday and spent 2022-24 with the Packers. Replaces Zion Childress,” Archer disclosed on Thursday.
While he was last on the Pats’ roster, Ballentine spent the previous three seasons with the Packers, playing 37 games for the team.
Dallas Cowboys Having A Hard Time Adjusting

As expected, the Cowboys aren’t as formidable without Parsons in their squad. They sit at 1-2 ahead of Sunday’s clash with Green Bay and needed a heroic effort from kicker Brandon Aubrey to beat the New York Giants in Week 2, following which they announced a notable signing.
Micah’s absence isn’t the only one being felt either, with key veterans such as Zack Martin retiring and DeMarcus Lawrence leaving.
The defense is visibly struggling to adapt to life without Parsons as its anchor, while there will also be a notable absence on the other side of the ball after CeeDee Lamb sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears.
The Pro Bowl wide receiver is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks due to the injury, which looked much worse in real time.
