The Cincinnati Bengals are once again facing an all-too-familiar situation regarding a Joe Burrow injury.
Burrow is expected to miss at least three months of the NFL season after ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that he will undergo surgery for his Grade 3 turf toe injury. That is just awful news for a quarterback who was expected to compete for the MVP award.
Turf toe injuries are graded on a scale of 1-3, with three being the most severe.
Burrow suffered a toe injury in the second quarter of the team’s win over the Jaguars. He was unable to return and was seen leaving the locker room with crutches and a walking boot on his left foot.
Now the news has only gotten worse for him.
Renowned pro football doctor David J. Chao reported on Joe Burrow’s three-month timeline but did not give Bengals fans any hope, as his type of injury is effectively season-ending.
What’s Next For Joe Burrow And The Bengals?

Burrow left Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a toe injury, which is severe enough that he needs surgery.
Adam Schefter says the injury will keep Burrow out for a “minimum of three months.”
That is the worst news possible for a team with Super Bowl aspirations that started the year with a 2-0 record.
As for the team, backup Jake Browning entered the game and went on to lead the Bengals to a comeback win. The team will either stay with him or possibly pursue another quarterback.
One trade proposal has them going after Kirk Cousins.
With Joe Burrow sidelined until at least December, the team has some major decisions to think about.
