Was Charlie Kirk’s shooter pictured, and no one noticed until it was too late?
Authorities are still searching for the person who fatally shot the right-wing activist and podcaster on a college campus on Wednesday.
Kirk, a prominent conservative political activist and supporter of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.
A manhunt is underway for the shooter, who is believed to have fired just once into the neck of Kirk from a nearby roof, according to authorities.
President Donald Trump described Kirk’s death as a “dark moment for America.”
Now, a social media detective may have blown the case wide open.
A single picture from the event is now pointing to a suspicious-looking bush that appears to have a person hiding in it, while hundreds of others are looking at Charlie Kirk, who was under his tent.
“Does this bush look suspicious to anyone? It lines up directly to where Charlie Kirk’s tent was and where he was shot. I was very hesitant to post this until I got other opinions on the matter,” a post said.
FBI Is On The Tail of Charlie Kirk’s Shooter
Authorities are getting closer to finding the shooter.
They believe they have recovered the firearm used to shoot Kirk from a nearby roof, as revealed on Thursday. The gunman is male and “appears to be of college age,” according to investigators.
Robert Bohls, the FBI special agent in charge, added in a news conference that agents recovered “a high-powered bolt action rifle” in “a wooded area where the shooter had fled.”
The FBI laboratory will analyze the weapon for possible prints that could identify the shooter and bring him to justice.
Charlie Kirk, a close Trump ally, has been getting praised and mocked online following his tragic death. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
