The Buffalo Bills begin their final season at the old Highmark Stadium, and it started out in grand fashion with a comeback victory over the Ravens on Sunday.
The $2.1 billion New Highmark Stadium project is slated to transform Bills fans’ gameday experience. It is the most expensive construction project in the region’s history and the largest public investment ever made in an NFL venue.
Ground was broken on the new stadium in June 2023, and renderings were released in 2025. The stadium is scheduled to open in 2026.
Despite the money spent to make the massive new stadium look good for years to come, some unlucky fans were most certainly going to have terrible seats.
One fan has already done the work and pointed to section 433 in the Buffalo Bills’ new stadium, which shows an incredibly obstructed view for some poor fans who will be purchasing those tickets for years to come.
A close-up of the section shows a massive metal pole right in front of where fans will be seated, so there will be a ton of leaning over just to see the action.
You would be better off watching the game at home.
Despite the terrible view from some unlucky fans, the new stadium will have a secret weapon. It will have heating, irrigation, and SubAir systems under its playing surface.
This will help slow down the wind and make field goal attempts that much easier for the home team.
The Buffalo Bills Would Love To Open The Stadium With A Super Bowl

New Highmark Stadium is being built directly across from the current Highmark Stadium.
The franchise would love to open it in grand fashion.
In 2024, the Bills delivered a stellar campaign with a 13-4 record, securing their fifth consecutive AFC East title and reaching the AFC Championship Game. However, that is where that season would come to an end.
Josh Allen was crowned the 2024 NFL MVP, firmly cementing his position as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
In 2025, the Buffalo Bills are pegged as one of the better teams in the entire league that is expected to contend for a spot in the Super Bowl.
There would be no better way to open up a billion-dollar stadium than with a Super Bowl banner.
