And in the blink of a crinkling eye, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged.
The All-Pro Chiefs tight end proposed to the pop megastar, Swift and Kelce announced in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift wrote with photos of Kelce down on one knee and Swift with an engagement ring.
First linked in 2023, Swift flipped the internet on its head when she attended her first Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium in September to support Kelce.
The 14-time Grammy winner was part of the Chiefs’ thrilling run to Super Bowl 2024, when they took down the 49ers in overtime at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, 25-22.
Kelce and Swift, both 35, sealed the victory with a kiss on the field before celebrating into the night.
History repeated itself this year when the Chiefs punched their ticket to Super Bowl 2025 with Swift by Kelce’s side.
The pair took in the confetti celebrations at Arrowhead Stadium after Kansas City topped Buffalo in the AFC Championship game in January, 32-29.
The Chiefs lost to the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans in a rematch of 2023’s championship contest.
Prior to Tuesday’s revelation, Swift and Kelce had been at the center of engagement buzz for some time.
Page Six reported in December 2023 that Kelce asked Swift’s father, Scott Swift, for permission to propose.
A high-up Chiefs executive also had been overheard last August discussing how Kelce and Swift planned to get married, per Page Six.
“Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring,” a source said at the time.
Swift’s family and Kelce’s have meshed throughout the couple’s romance, frequently taking in Chiefs games together.
Before Super Bowl 2025 kicked off in February, Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, spoke about how the duo would have some time for themselves after a whirlwind year.
“Without the NFL season, without the Eras Tour, [it will be] just them alone really connecting more,” Ed said in an interview with Australia’s “Today” show.
Swift wrapped the nearly two-year run of her blockbuster Eras Tour in December 2024.
Kelce, who attended several shows and even made a cameo on stage, threw her a surprise party to celebrate shortly after.
