Kenny Pickett has a new home.
On Monday, the Cleveland Browns, who had the most notable quarterback battle in the entire league that got spicy at times, decided to rid themselves of one of them.
The Browns, who cut quarterback Tyler Huntley this Sunday, decided to part ways with Pickett by trading him to the Las Vegas Raiders.
This was a huge move for the Raiders, who needed another backup for Geno Smith after QB Aidan O’Connell fractured his wrist in the preseason finale.
The Cleveland Browns completed their preseason schedule and are now focused on figuring out and finalizing their final 53-man roster.
Joe Flacco will be the Browns’ Week 1 starter. Behind him was expected to be Kenny Pickett, but now that he is gone, you have Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, who will move up on the depth chart.
Pickett has missed the entire preseason due to a hamstring injury.
Kenny Pickett’s Exit Helps Both Shedeut Sanders & Dillon Gabriel

Cleveland’s head coach, Kevin Stefanski, addressed Pickett’s status during his press conference on Sunday and said the team expects the 27-year-old quarterback to be ready to roll for Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Behind the scenes, the front office knew he was on his way out.
That is big news for the Browns. Both Gabriel and Sanders have great potential, and this move shows that the team is quite comfortable with both rookies going forward.
As for Pickett, the young quarterback has not been able to put together the kind of career that had been expected from him when he was drafted No. 20 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Despite that, he still possesses great talent himself.
