Nick Viall’s Wife Natalie Joy Shares Miscarriage Update

Watch: Nick Viall’s Wife Natalie Joy Shares Update After 3rd Miscarriage

Natalie Joy is opening up about her recent miscarriage.

Days after Nick Viall shared that his wife suffered a miscarriage nearly five months after her second pregnancy loss, the 26-year-old—who shares 18-month old daughter River Rose with the Bachelorette alum—shared an update on her recovery.

“Wanted to thank everyone for the love and support after sharing that we experienced our 3rd miscarriage,” Natalie wrote on her Instagram Stories Aug. 17. “I took this last week to recover physically from my second D&C, lean on my people and nonstop squeezing my miracle rivvy girl.”

“I’m working very closely with my doctors that I love and trust,” she continued. “Eager to find out what’s going on so we don’t experience this heartbreak for a 4th time. Love y’all.”

The latest personal update comes just three days after Nick shared the tragic news on his Viall Files podcast. After all, the couple has always been open about their pregnancy journey.

“As you can see, Natalie is not with us,” the 44-year-old said during the Aug. 14 episode. “There’s no really good way to say it, it f–king sucks. She’s obviously at home resting and healing, both physically and emotionally.”

Although he noted that doctors assured them that miscarriages can happen, Nick admitted that it was still “a bit of a scary time” since that had already experienced two this year.

“It’s far less normal to have two or three back-to-back,” he continued. “Now we’re in that very scary process of running tests and finding out more about ourselves. It’s this weird thing of like, you want them to find something, but you don’t want them to find something.”

And as a father, the reality star acknowledged that he’s been experiencing grief differently than his wife.

“There’s an immediate bond and a connection that I think is very unique for mothers,” he explained. “For the dads out there, you’re trying to strike this balance between grieving yourself, but also just keeping life together and keeping the family going.”

“For people who do experience it, there’s a tragedy there that makes you feel very alone,” he added. “That’s something Natalie’s going through right now.”
