Travis Kelce isn’t typically shy with a mic in hand. But when faced with performing on a stage in front of 90,000 fans alongside one of the biggest pop stars in the world, “fearless” wouldn’t be the word to describe him.
That pop star is of course Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who made her highly-anticipated debut on his New Heights podcast opposite his brother and cohost Jason Kelce for an episode released on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
During the episode, the couple, both 35, recalled the time they shared the stage together when the Travis made a surprise appearance during the 14-time Grammy winner’s third show at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of the record-breaking Eras Tour in June 2024.
“It was so good. It was so special,” Swift said when thinking back to her boyfriend’s performance.
“That came out because we thought we were doing a bit, like we both thought we were just joking,” she added of how his concert cameo came to be.
“I was serious in a terrifying fashion,” Travis said of their idea to perform together during The Eras Tour. Swift added, “It was like a, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if…’ kind of thing.”
Travis wore a tuxedo and top hat and joined Swift for her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” outfit change — a transition the “Bad Blood” singer first introduced when she began incorporating songs from The Tortured Poets Department album into the tour.
Swift made clear that she was “never going to pressure” the football player into joining her on stage, but said that she “saw that twinkle” in his eye that made her confident in knowing that he was into the idea.
“You got up there. You were so good. Every single beat. His comedic timing is crazy,” Swift raved of Travis’ on-stage talents. She added, “And when the lights are bright, he like slows down time… that’s when he thrives.”
However, Travis had a bit of a different perspective on the bright-light scenario.
“Well no, that’s just when I black out and hope that it ends up perfect,” the three-time Super Bowl winner made clear, remembering, “I rose from that stage and I saw how many people are looking at you and I was just like… blackout.”
Swift, complimentary and supportive, reassured him that he crushed it.
“You looked so good. It was amazing. It was one of the loudest, if not the loudest screams I have ever heard on the tour. It really was,” she told him.
Jason, 37, jumped into the conversation to ask his brother about the difference between playing football in a stadium filled with thousands of fans and performing on stage with Swift, also in front of thousands.
“It’s nothing like this,” he said of repping the Chiefs on the gridiron verses dancing with his girlfriend for the concert. “I felt like an ant. I felt like the smallest piece of life ever.”

This wasn’t the first time Travis reflected on his Eras Tour performance on New Heights. In May, he recalled the moment with Jason and called it an “unforgettable” experience.
“I’ll never forget being on a stage in front of what felt like a million people,” he previously said of joining Swift.
