Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seemingly confirmed their relationship in October 2023
In September 2024, the pop star referred to him as her “boyfriend” publicly for the first time
On Aug. 13, the “Lover” singer appeared on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she described him as a “human exclamation point”
Travis Kelce might’ve been the first to declare his admiration for Taylor Swift — but the pop star isn’t holding back now.
The pair first fueled dating rumors in the summer of 2023, after Kelce attended the pop star’s Eras Tour and expressed his disappointment in not meeting her during an episode of his podcast, New Heights, which he hosts alongside his brother, Jason Kelce. The pair seemingly confirmed their romance in October 2023 when Swift attended a string of Kansas City Chiefs’ games.
Although the whole world was talking about Swift’s potential new romance, the pop star herself remained tight-lipped about her relationship. That is, until December 2023, when her interview for TIME’s Person of the Year was published and she addressed the widespread attention surrounding her appearance at the NFL games.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” she said. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Flash forward to September 2024 at the MTV Video Music Awards, she spoke publicly of Kelce for the first time and referred to him as her “boyfriend.”
More recently, Swift and Kelce nearly broke the internet on Aug. 11, when they confirmed in a flirty teaser clip that the singer would be making her debut — and announcing her 12th studio album — on New Heights.
During the episode, which aired on Aug. 13, she shared many sweet words for her “handsome” boyfriend of nearly two years, including that he was like a “human exclamation point.”
Here’s everything Taylor Swift has said about her relationship with Travis Kelce.

In December 2023, Swift was named TIME’s Person of the Year. In her cover story with the outlet, she opened up about the early days of her relationship with Kelce — when he said in a July 2023 episode of New Heights that he tried (and failed!) to give Swift his number when he attended one of the stops on the Eras Tour earlier that month.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said.

In the TIME interview, Swift clarified the timeline of their relationship. Although fans believed their relationship was just getting started when she began showing up to his NFL games in September 2023, she explained that they started “hanging out” right after he put her on “blast” on his podcast, which happened in July 2023.
“So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she said. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?”
Swift continued, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Elsewhere in the TIME interview, Swift opened up about what it means to go public with a relationship, especially one as thrust into the public eye as hers.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone.”
Swift continued, “And we’re just proud of each other.”

In June 2024, the internet nearly broke when Kelce made his Eras Tour debut and joined his girlfriend on stage during her show at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The NFL player wore a tuxedo and top hat and joined Swift during her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” outfit change, stepping in for the dancer who typically carried the singer onstage during the bit. He went on to do Swift’s faux touch-up, including dusting her face with powder.
The next day, Swift shared a carousel of images on Instagram from her London run, giving a special shout-out to Kelce in the caption.
“I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰,” she wrote. “Never going to forget these shows.”

At the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2024, Swift took home the honor of Video of the Year, for “Fortnight” with Post Malone. She thanked many people — from the directors to the production designers — in her acceptance speech, and gave a special shout-out to Kelce.
“The things that this video, it seems very sad when you watch it, but it actually was like the most fun video to make, and something that I’ll always remember is when I would finish a take and I’d say ‘cut’ and we’d be done with that take, I would always just hear like someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis,” she said.
Swift continued, “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So, I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”

On Aug. 11, New Heights confirmed that Swift was making her debut on the podcast on Aug. 13 — and shared a teaser clip that included some playful flirting between Swift and Kelce.
In the video, Swift told Kelce that blue was a “such a nice color” on him, to which he replied, “Yes, I know. It’s the color of your eyes, sweetie, it’s why we match so well.”

During the Aug. 13 episode of New Heights, Swift shared that it was her “favorite podcast” — and opened up about why it’s “done a lot” for her.
“I owe a lot to this podcast,” she said. “This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago.”
She also joked about how Kelce “threw a man tantrum” after not meeting Swift at her Arrowhead Stadium show, and that she has actually “never seen” the original friendship bracelet that he said he meant to give her.
“This dude didn’t get a meet and greet and he’s making it everyone’s problem, that’s what I thought at first,” Swift said, adding that his podcast shout-out was a “wild, romantic gesture.”

After discussing Kelce’s grand gesture, Jason asked Swift how she knew his brother wasn’t crazy. Swift, however, explained that Kelce is the “good kind of crazy.”
“I knew that he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times that we talked. I was just like, he’s truly getting to know me in a way that’s very natural, very pure, very normal,” she said, adding that he could make her “laugh so immediately, about normal things.”
The pop star went on to describe the football player as a “vibe booster in everyone’s life that he’s in.”
“He’s like, when you take a picture on your phone and you put the, like you push the enhance color button, that’s what you do to everyone’s life,” she said to Kelce, adding that she appreciated how “non-judgmental” he was about knowing “nothing” about the world he was in.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Swift shared what she considers to be some of Kelce’s “green flags.”
While discussing her experiences watching Kelce play football from his family and friends’ suite, she explained that it’s a “huge green flag” that he’s had the “same friends since he’s probably 4 years old.”
“He’s incredibly good at maintaining friendships, and he’s so loyal,” she said. “His friends are equally loyal. They’re just the funniest, most hilarious group of people.”
Then, while reminiscing on the time Swift walked into a game through general admission with his “big, bulky” friends, she joked that another “green flag” was that he wasn’t “threatened by other guys.”
