“Canelo Is A Cornflake” – Conor McGregor Predicts UFC 306 To Overshadow Canelo Vs. Berlanga

Imagine a world where boxing’s biggest star is called a “cornflake” by MMA’s most notorious mouth. Well, fans certainly don’t need to imagine anymore. Conor McGregor, the UFC’s king of controversy, has recently just fired a shot at Canelo Alvarez. With two major events set to collide in Las Vegas this September, the Irishman’s predicting a knockout. But not the kind you might expect.

McGregor’s not pulling any punches with his words. He claims Alvarez can only draw about 300,000 buys. That’s a far cry from the $200 million Alvarez is reportedly seeking for a future fight. With two major events set to clash in Las Vegas on September 14, the timing of this verbal sparring is no coincidence. In one corner, there is UFC 306 at the futuristic Sphere. On the other, Canelo faces Edgar Berlanga at T-Mobile Arena.

“Canelo is a cornflake. He has about [300,000] buys in him. He does not generate nothing near what he seeks to be paid. UFC Noche [306] is going to run them from the strip. Sheik Turki was right, moving on. Canelo doesn’t sell,” wrote McGregor via X.

McGregor predicts that UFC 306 will heavily outperform the clashing boxing event. The Irishman didn’t just stop there. He praised Sheikh Turki Alalshikh for “moving on” from Alvarez. It seems McGregor thinks the boxing champ isn’t worth the investment.
