The White House has addressed the viral videos and photos of the makeup that was spotted on President Donald Trump’s right hand yesterday.

While Donald Trump was speaking to reporters on Tuesday, camera operators caught some visible makeup on his right hand, apparently used to cover something up. It led to more questions and concerns about the president’s health:

In a statement to the Daily Beast, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that constant handshakes has caused the bruise on Trump’s hand:

“President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.”

If Leavitt’s explanation sounds familiar, that’s because it’s been used by Trump and his office twice before. Speaking to Time in December, Trump said it was because of excessive handshakes.

When Trump welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to the White House in February, a giant bruise was visible on his hand. The White House, unsurprisingly, used the repetitive handshaking excuse.

Recently, other observers have started to wonder if President Trump has been wearing leg braces. See the photo below and make your own conclusion:

Like predecessor Joe Biden, Donald Trump’s age, physical and mental health have been widely questioned. During his campaign last year, Trump vowed to release his medical records, but that never happened.

Fred Trump III, the nephew of the president, has expressed concern that his uncle may have dementia. Fred is the son of the late Fred Trump Jr., who tragically passed away at the age of 42 in 1981.

Fred cited the family’s history with dementia and worries that the President could have it right now. Donald and Fred Jr.’s father, Fred Trump, was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease before he passed away in 1999.
